Our story

Took its current form as Carolina Hedge Fund: a true multi-asset book across long equity, short equity, fixed income, and derivatives, with a dedicated Risk & Strategy arm overseeing every trade.
Current · Long · Short · Credit · Derivatives · R&S
The club began expanding into a multi-asset fund covering long equity, short equity, fixed income, and derivatives, with members pitching ideas to a voting investment committee.
Expanded · Long · Short · Credit · Derivatives
The club was founded as a fixed income association, a small group of students focused on corporate credit, rates, and bond market mechanics.

“Market payoffs are not tied to a single asset class.”
Carolina Hedge Fund's current era was shaped by founder Chris Kaufman with one idea in mind: the most interesting questions in markets live at the seams between asset classes. CHF was built to give UNC students the experience of working across the capital structure, on the same names, in the same room, in the same week.
The result is a fund that thinks about a long equity pitch and the call option that hedges it as parts of the same conversation, and a Risk & Strategy arm that holds the whole book accountable to its theses.
